Movado, The Art of Design

Men's and Women's Watches

In 1912 Movado made history with a curved movement that followed the curve of the wrist. But it is best known for the "Museum Watch," a simple yet dramatic design that is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. There are no numbers or batons on the dial, just one simple dot at 12 o'clock. The inspiration for designer Nathan George Hewitt's legendary museum dial was a sundial.

One of the watches most sought after by collectors is Movado's "Ermeto," a purse watch whose automatic winding mechanism is activated by opening and closing the case. Other great designs include the Movado Esperanza, with an art deco-inspired case and bracelet, the Fiero Tonneau chronograph, the SE Extreme Automatic, the Master, the Vizio, Safiro, Amorosa, Bela, Belamoda, Metio, Luno, Euro, Esperanza, Faceto, Fiero, Junior Sport, Juro, Harmony, Sapphire, Movado Artists' Series, Ono,Ono Moda, Rava, Red Label, Rondiro, Museum, S.E. and S.E. Extreme, Stiri, and Temo. Movado watches and chronographs are available with leather straps, stainless steel bracelets, gold bands, diamond bezels, tungsten carbide cases and bracelets, and dials of various colors and materials.
